The fate of America's shopping malls

The company that owns the Natick Collection, along with three other shopping malls in Massachusetts, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this week, according to Yahoo Business. While we probably won’t see the Natick Mall shutter its doors anytime soon, we will see store closings and more layoffs. It seems as if the era of America’s love affair with shopping is drawing to a close. I’m not sure that’s such a bad thing.
